John Pfaff serves as HP Environmental’s Director of Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Chemistry. With more than 25 years of experience as an accomplished analytical chemist and laboratory manager, John’s expertise extends to the fields of environmental, industrial hygiene and pesticide residue chemistry. Within these fields, John has directed numerous research studies and site investigation projects involving the analysis of toxic substances in air, water, soil and biological samples.

John received his B.S. and M.Eng. degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Biological Sciences and Environmental Sciences and Engineering, respectively. Prior to joining HP Environmental, he was the Technical Director for a major environmental analytical laboratory and has provided consulting expertise to several laboratories.
Early in his career, John performed and provided oversight for numerous environmental monitoring projects and industrial hygiene bench studies and managed an environmental chemistry section for commercial laboratories including a mobile laboratory. At HPE, John holds the position of Director of Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Chemistry and directs operations involving analysis of air sampling media, water and soil using a variety of techniques and instruments.
