The discipline of Building Sciences consists of the identification and resolution of issues and potential issues that could hamper the construction of safe affordable structures for housing, commerce and industry It deals primarily with the built environment and is often described as consulting engineering in the built environment (CEBE). It supports advances in building sciences and technologies for the purpose of improving the performance of buildings, while reducing waste and conserving energy and resources.
